Interestingly, the list of the best-rated beers in the UK for 2023 is predominantly dominated by breweries within the country. With only Guinness from Ireland, Birra Moretti L’Autentica from Italy, Blue Moon Belgian White from the USA and Stella Artois Unfiltered making the cut to the top-20, it becomes evident that UK beer enthusiasts highly regard UK breweries. This preference for homegrown brews showcases the significance of the United Kingdom as a powerhouse in the beer culture landscape. With its rich and diverse beer heritage, it’s no surprise that the UK holds a prominent position in the world of beer.

In contrast to the list of best-rated beers in France, which primarily featured beers from outside the country, the UK’s list highlights a notable emphasis on local brews.

Best beers rated by UK drinkers in January – April 2023

The New England IPA/Hazy IPA style appears the most frequently in the list, with four beers falling into this category. India Pale Ale (IPA) and Pale Ale come next with three beers each. The remaining styles (Dry Stout, Pale Lager, Pilsner and Witbier) are represented by one beer each in the list.
